TAWA organized November Coffee Night at the Turquoise Center on November 16. A 14th century originated friends get together tradition, SIRA GECESI, was introduced by Hacer Sahin, a young volunteer of TAWA.
Guests took their places in the traditionally designed room, and following the presentation they enjoyed one of the routine games of "Sira Gecesi", "Yuzuk Fincan Oyunu(Game of the Ring and Cups)". After this fun game, dance group from Harmony Science Academy, Dallas performed Turkish Folk Dance. Guests also joined dancing and learned several kinds of Turkish Folk Dance moves from those young talents. Meanwhile the famous dish "Cig Kofte" was being prepared, and became ready to serve with the other Turkish cuisine namely Sarma (stuffed grape leaves), Icli Kofte (meatballs stuffed with cracked wheat), Etli Pilav (rice with beef), Sekerpare (Turkish sugarballs) and many more.
The exhibition of handmade crafts was another amazing part of this Coffee Night. Parvina Alieva introduced her own handmade crafts which were all made from used materials. All the guests agreed that those beautiful crafts were one of the best ways of recycling.
